Michael is experienced in acquiring and renovating real estate investment vehicles in both USA and Canada.

Michael is a principal in Karas Corporation. He is an expert in the preservation and renovation of urban historic commercial properties and has achieved an impressive development record for both stabilized and value-added properties. His focus is on acquisition and disposition strategies and provides an experienced insight into how best to preserve the character of buildings while enhancing marketability and repositioning the properties, unlocking their past obsolescence to maximize property cash flow and disposition value.

With 25 years experience Michael's past achievements include, being an award winning developer , a joint venture partner with institutional lenders, and has managed a public Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT).

Michael is dynamic, imaginative and a skilled strategist who understands the unique process of selecting contractors, managing the construction budget for an on time delivery and the importance of financial engineering the capital stack, structuring both debt and equity in acquisitions and re-financing with a focus towards near term and future liquidity events.
